Russian Drone Strikes SSU Building in Kyiv

A Russian drone struck the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) building in central Kyiv, near the Zoloti Vorota metro station.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the drone was aimed directly at the office of Head of the SSU, Oleksandr Poklad in that building.

The head of state ordered a response to the Russians for this attack.

“I have instructed Oleksandr Poklad to respond to the Russians for this attack in an adequate, significant, and, if possible, symmetrical manner once everything is ready. Our military will support this response. Glory to Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

A fire broke out after the strike, and efforts are currently underway to extinguish it.

According to the online media outlet Ukrainska Pravda, the acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine was not in the building at the time of the strike.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko also reported a fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district caused by a UAV crashing onto the roof of a non-residential building.
