The Russian armed forces are expanding the military camp near Voronezh.

In February 2022, the Russian Federation stockpiled personnel and equipment in this camp before invading Ukraine.

According to the satellite images data, the new tent camp next to the Pogonovo training ground was built no earlier than January 25, 2023.

The construction process of the camp can be traced to the pictures taken on January 30, as well as on February 1 and 7.

Before last year’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian army actively transferred equipment and personnel to this training ground.

Units of the 1st Guards Tank Army, in particular, were based here.

According to the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, which cites records discovered after Russian troops withdrew from Kyiv, more than 400 Russian soldiers and officers were killed and injured, and 300 pieces of equipment were destroyed in less than a month of fighting.

In recent weeks, the Russian military also built another tent camp in the vicinity of the Postoyalye Dvory training ground, near the same named village in the Kursk region.

According to satellite images, the camp was built between January 28 and February 7.

Russian mobiks who survived the New Year’s Eve Ukrainian attack on Vocational School No19 in Makiivka recently filmed a video appeal to Russian authorities at this camp.

The video shows they ask not to disband their unit (1444 regiment) and say that after the Ukrainian strike, they could not be taken out of Makiivka to a safe place for a long time.

“We continue to move in unclear directions without any missions,” one soldier said. According to him, as a result, they were brought to a tent camp in Postoyalye Dvory, where “no one was waiting for them.”
