Russia has threatened to retaliate against Greece over the agreement between Greece and Ukraine on the production of maritime drones.

It has been stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry, according to the Athens News.

Russia regarded the cooperation between Greece and Ukraine as a ‘hostile step’  that allegedly undermines the security of the region.

The statement emphasizes that such agreements could have ‘negative consequences’ for relations between Russia and Greece.

The Russian side is trying to present this cooperation as part of ‘Western plans’ to strengthen Ukraine in the war. The Russian Foreign Ministry said it would be “forced to respond” to such steps.

According to Greek sources, the agreement concerns the production and supply of maritime drones.

The production will cover the needs of both countries: the Ukrainian army will receive some of the maritime drones, while the other part will be added to the arsenal of the Greek Armed Forces. This will allow Greece to narrow the technological gap with Turkey.
