In August, the first trials of terminals for Russia’s Rassvet satellite internet service with consumers began, and the equipment is expected to be tested on a moving Russian Railways (RZhD) train in the near future.
This was reported by Alexey Shelobkov, CEO of ICS Holding, in an interview with the Russian outlet RBC.
A mobile terminal designed to operate at speeds of up to 400 km/h is expected to undergo testing.
According to the holding’s CEO, the service’s key customers have already had the opportunity to test the new system.
Such testing is necessary to assess connection stability and verify the terminals’ ability to maintain a satellite link while the object is on the move.
This will allow the technology to be further developed for subsequent use in vehicles and unmanned systems.
Recently, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha has called for sanctions to be imposed on Russia’s Rassvet satellite project.
