Russian troops have begun disguising military trucks as civilian vehicles due to active attacks by Ukrainian drones deep behind enemy lines.

This was reported by the project Crimean Wind.

In the northern part of Crimea, an unusual Ural truck, freshly painted blue, was spotted. A man in civilian clothes with a short haircut was behind the wheel, but the license plates on the vehicle remained military.

The atypical design of the cargo bed, disguised as a dump truck, also draws attention. Its dimensions appear too large for this type of vehicle.

It is possible that this was done to transport the maximum possible cargo volume, or that a standard covered cargo bed is hidden under the disguise.

According to the project, the command of the Russian “Dnepr” military group ordered the widespread use of civilian transport to carry fuel along the route connecting Rostov-on-Don with the temporarily occupied Crimea.

In recent weeks, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have significantly stepped up drone strikes on logistics trucks and fuel tankers on routes between Russia and occupied Crimea.

The intensity of the attacks has already forced the invaders to restrict the movement of freight transport through the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region toward Crimea.

In addition, ports, cargo ships, oil depots, and railway infrastructure facilities in the occupied territories are regularly targeted. Combined with constant attacks on oil refineries, this has already led to a significant fuel shortage.

In particular, Sevastopol has imposed restrictions on fuel sales for civilian vehicles — no more than 20 liters per vehicle per week.

Drone strikes have also severely damaged the bridge across the Chonhar Strait.

The damage to the bridge further complicates logistics to Crimea, lengthening supply routes. This is likely to lead not only to higher fuel transportation costs but also to an increase in the time Russian trucks spend within range of Ukrainian drones.
