BlueBird Tech has expanded the frequency range of its Chuika 4.0 drone detector to 4.5 GHz.
The company informed Militarnyi about the update.
As a result of the upgrade, the device’s 3.3 GHz band now covers frequencies between 2,860 and 4,500 MHz.
This allows the detector to operate with signals in the 4–4.5 GHz range, which Russian forces frequently use for Molniya strike drones.
Following testing, specialists confirmed stable detection of signals on these frequencies at distances of up to 3 km.
The device’s actual operating range depends on the transmitter’s power, antennas, interference, and other conditions.
Overall, the new version of the detector operates across four frequency bands, including 1,080–2,200 MHz and 4,860–6,040 MHz.
The key difference in the 4.0 modification is the addition of a fourth frequency band, 6,040–8,800 MHz, for which the device is equipped with a dedicated receiver module and a fourth antenna.
Despite the increased number and bandwidth of the frequency ranges, the device completes a full automatic scan cycle in 4–8 seconds.
The detector has a built-in 5,000 mAh battery, providing up to 2 hours of operation. An external 10,000 mAh battery pack included with the system extends the total operating time to up to 6 hours.
Previously, personnel from Lithuania’s 1031st Drone Company demonstrated the use of Ukrainian-made Chuika drone detectors during training exercises.
In response to an inquiry from Militarnyi, BlueBird Tech, the manufacturer of these detectors, stated that as of April 3, 2026, the company had no direct contracts with the Lithuanian side to supply the detectors.
