Ukrainian drones have forced the invaders to restrict truck traffic through the occupied territories of the Kherson region to Crimea.
The head of the Kherson region’s occupation administration, collaborator Volodymyr Saldo, stated that this applies to the ‘R-280’ highway.
This highway, which the invaders have named ‘Novorossiya,’ runs from Rostov-on-Don to Crimea, passing through cities in the occupied Donetsk region, including Mariupol.
The decision will remain in effect until further notice from the occupying authorities.
However, the restrictions will not apply to military cargo, special cargo, medicines, infrastructure equipment, fuel, perishable goods, and essential goods.
Additionally, this morning the occupying authorities in Sevastopol imposed limits on purchases—up to 20 liters of fuel per person at gas stations of Crimea’s largest network, TES, which controls about half of the entire market.
Ukrainian defense forces have begun actively striking logistics trucks and fuel tankers with drones on the highways leading from Russia to occupied Crimea. Drivers who cross the Ukrainian border and illegally make trips via the land corridor through the occupied territories report recent tensions on the highway.
“Trucks burned by drone strikes are parked on the shoulders of the road. The main advice is not to stop on the shoulders at night and not to spend the night in your vehicles,” say Russian logistics truck drivers.
Ukrainian drones have already begun striking logistics vehicles near the occupied checkpoint in the Donetsk region.
The drones fly more than 150 km deep into the combat zone.
Recently, several Russian trucks were destroyed on the Russian-Ukrainian border along the Rostov–Mariupol highway.
