The Pentagon announced the time of a new meeting of the defense ministers on supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

The press service of the U.S. Department of Defense reports about this.

The fourth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group was reported based on the information released in the summary of the telephone conversation between Lloyd Austin and Oleksii Reznikov, Ministers of Defense of the United States and Ukraine.

The Head of the Pentagon provided his Ukrainian counterpart with updated information about the U.S. security assistance to Ukraine. This includes, in particular, a new $400 million package announced on July 8.

The Ministers also discussed the agenda for the next Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) meeting to be held on July 20 and exchanged ideas on the future of the U.S. and Allied assistance to Ukraine through the UDCG format.

This time, the meeting of the defense ministers and representatives of countries in support of Ukraine will be held virtually.

The last “Ramstein format” meeting was on June 15. It was then reported that Ukraine will receive additional 155-mm howitzers, its ammunition, and the coastal defense systems with Harpoon anti-ship missiles.

As previously reported, the US will provide Ukraine with 1,000 rounds of 155-mm ammunition as part of a new $400 million aid package.

A new type of precision-guided artillery rounds that will give Ukraine a technological edge in its battle against Russia.

Also, precision munitions are critical to avoiding the destruction of non-military objects and civilian casualties. By contrast, Russia has been bombing civilians indiscriminately.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, shared that his country would provide Ukraine with state-of-the-art heavy weapons. In particular, Rutte emphasized the transfer of armored vehicles and self-propelled howitzers. He also called on other countries to follow this lead.
