Quantum Systems has raised $1.2 billion in a Series D funding round. This investment values the German company at approximately $8 billion.

This was reported by the company.

Quantum Systems, which develops UAVs for land, air, and maritime applications, said this funding round was co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus, and Advent, with participation from Bond, Fidelity Management and Research Company, Balderton, and HV Capital.

“The future lies in unmanned technologies. The defense sector will be defined by autonomous systems capable of interacting across different domains in real time. Together with Quantum Systems, we are building a new generation of ‘neo-prime’ companies—newly established defense firms focused on cutting-edge technologies, as opposed to the hardware giants of the defense-industrial complex—that have the potential to fundamentally transform the defense industry as we know it today. “We are a profitable company with a global presence, and thanks to our latest funding round, we now have over $1.2 billion at our disposal to implement our projects,” said Florian Seibel, co-chairman of the board and co-founder of Quantum Systems.

The company collaborates extensively with Ukraine; in particular, it operates a joint Ukrainian-German drone manufacturing facility, Quantum Frontline Industries, which shipped its first drones in the spring of 2026.

Ragnar Sass, founder of Darkstar—an investor consortium dedicated to building a European defense technology ecosystem—notes that just three European companies (Helsing, Quantum Systems, and Stark) account for over 50% of all funding raised over the past few years.

“And let’s be completely honest—we’re dealing with the exact opposite situation. Genuine defense technologies with a lethal component have a very hard time raising funds in Series A and B rounds. Especially if they’re from Ukraine. As far as I can tell, all Ukrainian companies working in defense technology have raised approximately $150 million over the past few years. That’s roughly the same amount that Quantum raised in just one additional funding round,” — reports Ragnar Sass.
