Poland will send its military personnel to Ukraine for exercises to counter Russian drones.

Reuters reports this with reference to its own sources.

According to the news agency, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk agreed to send the Polish military to the relevant exercises after a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The timing of the arrival of Polish anti-aircraft gunners has not been disclosed, nor is it known what kind of weapons they will be training with and how long the course will last.

It is likely that the exercises will focus on the tactics of using mobile fire groups, interceptor drones, and electronic warfare systems.

It is possible that the Ukrainian side will share its experience in the effective use of other air defense systems, including the Patriot system, which is common to both countries.

It can be assumed that the exchange of experience will take place through the JATEC (NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center), a joint project of Ukraine and NATO located in Poland.

The main task of the center is to analyze the experience of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war and to implement the necessary changes in NATO strategy.

The possibility of such exercises became known on September 10, 2025.

Then, in a conversation with Tusk, Zelensky emphasized that since the beginning of the Russian attacks, the Ukrainian military had been passing on all information about drones headed for Poland to its partners.

At least 19 Russian drones, including Shahed and Gerbera, entered Polish airspace via Belarus, after which they were intercepted by Polish and NATO aircraft.

At about 11 o’clock, Polish President Karol Nawrocky announced the completion of an operation in Polish airspace to neutralize Russian drones.

In addition, ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were activated during the attack.

Most of the drones were neutralized by Dutch F-35 fighters.
