A Russian ballistic Iskander missile destroyed food supplies stored at a warehouse of the World Food Programme in Dnipro.
The World Food Programme reported that the strike took place on May 25. The warehouse contained humanitarian food aid for people living in frontline regions.
“At the time of the attack, the facility held enough food assistance to support 130,000 people. The estimated value of the supplies was $1.4 million,” the organization shared.
The organization released photos showing the aftermath of the Russian missile strike. The images show a warehouse building with its roof pierced by the missile. The roof bore markings identifying the facility as being used by the World Food Programme.
Inside, numerous pallets of canned goods and other food supplies can be seen destroyed or damaged.
This is the second time Russian forces have attacked the warehouse. In November 2025, it was damaged in a drone strike.
“Over the past 18 months, the World Food Programme has recorded more than 84 incidents affecting its warehouses, vehicles, aid distribution points, and the property of local humanitarian partners across Ukraine,” Richard Ragan said.
The organization emphasized that attacks on civilian and humanitarian infrastructure are strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law.
Russia also used an Iskander missile to strike a humanitarian aid warehouse belonging to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Dnipro on May 20.
At least two people were killed in the attack, and the warehouse sustained severe damage.
Around 900 pallets of essential humanitarian supplies and shelter materials worth more than $1 million were destroyed at the facility. The aid had been prepared for distribution to displaced people and civilians affected by the war in frontline regions.
