Germany is funding the purchase of 50,000 attack drones for Ukraine.

Reuters reported this, citing a source familiar with the matter.

The contract calls for the delivery of Shrike FPV drones manufactured by the Ukrainian company SkyFall. The drones are equipped with software developed by the American company Auterion.

Auterion CEO Lorenz Meier confirmed the scope of the contract. According to him, the total value of the deal is approximately €90 million, and the funding is being provided by a European country. The Ukrainian company also confirmed the contract but did not comment on the details.

Meier clarified that some of the drones from this batch have already been delivered to Ukraine. The remainder of the drones scheduled for delivery is to be shipped by the end of this year.

As a reminder, Ukraine and Germany have signed an agreement on the joint production of Bars attack drones for the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The cooperation involves the export of Ukrainian military technologies and the establishment of production lines abroad.
