A Flamingo cruise missile strike on the Titan-Barrikady plant severely damaged the facility’s main production workshop.
Photos published by the Exilenova+ Telegram channel appear to show the extent of the damage.
As a result, Workshop No. 38, the plant’s primary production facility where the bulk of manufacturing work was carried out, may temporarily suspend full operations.
This workshop supports the operations of the tooling and mechanical assembly divisions. It was used to assemble individual mechanical units.
According to the company’s promotional video, the workshop houses cranes, machine tools, and other equipment used to produce launchers for Russia’s strategic missile systems.
In addition, a video marking “105 Years of Titan-Barrikady” features machine tools manufactured by the Japanese company Fanuc, a producer of CNC systems and industrial automation equipment. However, the use of foreign machine tools is not new for Russian enterprises of this strategic importance.
The Titan-Barrikady plant is a strategically important enterprise within Russia’s defense-industrial complex.
It is part of the Roscosmos State Corporation and is one of the few Russian enterprises that provides a full weapons production cycle – from design and research and development to large-scale serial manufacturing.
The enterprise is located approximately 400 km from Ukraine’s state border(48.78079150273448, 44.591066304016906) and is one of Russia’s most secretive arms manufacturers, producing components for the Oreshnik, Iskander-M, Topol-M, and Yars missile systems.
The plant specializes in the production of large-caliber artillery barrels, including 152 mm barrels for the Msta-B towed howitzer and the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer.
Militarnyi previously reported that at least five Flamingo cruise missiles targeted the Titan-Barrikady facility in Volgograd.
According to an analysis of photos and video footage conducted by the Dnipro Osint ⟨ Harbuz ⟩ OSINT community, at least three missiles struck the facility, hitting Workshop No. 2, the production building of Workshop No. 38, and another workshop of undetermined purpose.
Due to its direct role in supporting Russia’s military-industrial complex and its involvement in activities deemed to violate international security agreements, the plant is subject to sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, Japan, and several other countries.
