Nearly 80 flights were delayed or canceled at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of the danger of flying over Russia.

Restrictions on airport operations were introduced amid a drone attack during which Russian air defenses reportedly shot down 12 drones approaching Moscow, The Moscow Times reported, citing Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that 130 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over 11 regions of the country.

According to the local Telegram channel “Ostorozhno, Moskva,” changes to civilian flight schedules affected at least 77 flights.

Separately, Russian RBC reported the cancellation of six flights operated by Turkish airline Pegasus, whose representatives told passengers that Turkey had banned departures.

The delays came amid Zelensky’s warning to airlines and insurers that Russian airspace is becoming completely unsafe due to the active use of UAVs.
