In the Vladivostok region of Russia’s Far East, an explosion damaged a major Russian gas pipeline, and a water pipeline was also destroyed. These vital infrastructures supplied the 155th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy.
The news outlet RBC-Ukraine reported on this, citing sources within Ukrainian intelligence.
According to the information, the explosion and ensuing fire severely damaged branches of the Vladivostok main gas pipeline, which runs along the coast of the Sea of Japan.
According to sources cited by the publication within Ukrainian intelligence, the gas pipeline supplied gas to a number of Russian military facilities located along the coast of the Sea of Japan. Specifically, it provided for certain units of the 155th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade.
Part of the mentioned gas pipeline was commissioned in March 2025. Additionally, the explosion destroyed a water pipeline that supplied drinking water to military garrisons.
According to sources, the explosions occurred around 1 to 2 a.m. on July 5. This was followed by a large-scale fire, after which Russian special services and repair crews arrived at the site.
In an effort to conceal the incident from the local population—especially considering the upcoming 165th anniversary of Vladivostok’s founding—local security services shut down mobile internet and communications in the Lazurnaya Bay (Shamora) area.
This is not the first sabotage targeting the facilities of the 155th Brigade in the Far East. On May 30, it was reported that explosions had occurred at sites belonging to the 155th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade of the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet.
The incident took place on the outskirts of Vladivostok (Primorsky Krai), in the area of Desantnaya Bay, north of the city.
Sources from the Ukrainian special services cited by Militarnyi reported that the explosion was the result of sabotage against a unit of the occupying forces.
The attack targeted the personnel and equipment of the 47th Battalion, part of the aforementioned 155th Brigade. According to eyewitnesses, ambulances were seen leaving the scene. Covered vehicles, likely damaged, were also being transported away.
Units of this brigade were involved in the offensive on the Kyiv region at the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022.
