Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has codified the Blade interceptor drone developed by Ukrainian company Phantom Defense.
The codification allows the drone to be procured for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the company told Militarnyi.
The drone has a compact vertically oriented configuration and a streamlined pointed nose designed to reduce aerodynamic drag.
Two short stabilizing wings are located in the middle of the fuselage, providing the necessary lift and stability during horizontal flight.
The propulsion system consists of four electric motors with propellers mounted on pylons in the lower part of the fuselage in a quadcopter configuration.
A module with daylight and thermal-imaging cameras is integrated into the central part of the fuselage for round-the-clock tracking and guidance toward an aerial target.
The Blade can reach a maximum speed of 310 km/h. It has a range of up to 30 km and a payload capacity of up to 0.5 kg.
Thanks to its vertical takeoff and landing system, the drone does not require specially prepared runways.
The system includes a ground control station with telemetry, video and flight-control functions.
Phantom Defense said that codification paves the way for scaling up production of the interceptors. The drone will also soon become available on the Brave1 Market platform.
Earlier, Phantom Defense developed the Mangal modular FPV drone interceptor.
The system is designed to provide effective air defense for positions, facilities and military equipment against enemy drones.
