Explosions occurred at the facilities belonging to the 155th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade of the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet.

The incident took place in the vicinity of Vladivostok (the Primorsky Krai), in the area of Desantnaya Bay, north of the city.

Sources from Ukrainian special services told Militarnyi that the explosion was the result of a sabotage operation targeting the units of the occupying forces.

The attack was aimed at personnel and equipment of the 47th Separate Air Assault Battalion, which is part of the aforementioned 155th Brigade.

The units from this brigade took part in the assault on the Kyiv region at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2024.

The servicemen of the 155th Brigade have been spotted committing war crimes. In particular, in 2024, they reportedly decapitated a Ukrainian prisoner of war.

Ukrainian special services, thus, have demonstrated their capability to carry out sabotage deep behind enemy lines (the distance from Ukraine’s state border is over 6,000 kilometers).

After the explosions, the Russians blocked the highway, causing traffic jams.

“According to operational services, early in the morning in the area of Desantnaya Bay, two blasts occurred. Special and emergency services arrived at the scene, the incident area was cordoned off, and traffic between Shamora Bay and the village of Shchitovoye was partially interrupted,” local Telegram channels reported on May 30.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that ambulances had been moving through the area. Also, vehicles covered with tarpaulins, likely damaged cars, were being transported.

A Ka-27PS military helicopter was launched into the sky, likely to search for the saboteurs. Ka-27 in the PS version (abbreviation for the Russian “Поисково-спасательный,” meaning search and rescue) is designed for search and rescue flight support.

Local authorities decided to conceal the origin of the incident and claimed that the explosions had been caused by methane gas cylinders explosion.
