Drones Strike Avangard and SPP Plants in Russia’s Sterlitamak

On the morning of September 4, the Avangard Federal State Enterprise (FSE) and the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant (SPP) were struck by drones in Sterlitamak, Bashkortostan.

Footage was released by OSINT analysts from Supernova+.

Local residents reported a series of explosions and UAVs flying over the city.

In one of the videos, a man says that around 12 drones have already flown toward the SPP.

The footage shows FP-1 drones, which the Ukrainian Defense Forces use to strike major targets in Russia in an effort to degrade its military and economic potential.

The SPP has already been targeted by drone attacks several times. In particular, strikes on the facility were recorded in November 2025, as well as in January and April 2026.

Avangard FSE is a Russian military-industrial complex enterprise that has been included on the sanctions lists of several countries.

The plant manufactures explosives, ammunition, and containers under state defense orders. It also handles the disposal of military equipment, ammunition, solid ballistic missile propellants, and pyroxylin gunpowder.

It is part of Russia’s state-owned Rostec corporation.

The Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant is located approximately 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. It specializes in the production of synthetic rubber, BHT, and aviation gasoline.

The plant’s products are also used by Russia’s military-industrial complex.

The facility is part of Russia’s Roskhim chemical holding.
