On the morning of July 3, Ukrainian drones targeted the PJSC Energia facility in the city of Yelets, located in Russia’s Lipetsk region.

The strike was captured in videos filmed by eyewitnesses at the scene.

PJSC Energia is known as the largest manufacturer of batteries and power units for Russian military systems.

The footage captures drones flying over the city toward the facility, as well as the moment of the strike.

Residents in the area near the plant reported hearing explosions and seeing thick black smoke rising into the sky.

At least one building was reported to be damaged, with its windows shattered. Several cars in a nearby parking lot also caught fire.

The regional governor confirmed the attack on the facility, referring to it as the “crash of a drone.”

This facility, located in the aggressor state, was previously targeted by drones on the night of May 23 this year.

At that time, a fire broke out in one of the workshops after the strike, and nine plant workers were injured, according to Astra.

PJSC Energia

PJSC Energia is a Russian enterprise specializing in the production of sealed lead-acid, nickel-cadmium, and lithium-ion battery packs, uninterruptible power supplies, and military-grade electrochemical power sources.

The company is one of the largest battery manufacturers in Russia and plays a key role in the defense industry due to the specialization of its products. Its batteries are used across a wide range of military equipment — from combat drones to intercontinental ballistic missiles.

According to Russian contractor monitoring services, the company has held multimillion-ruble contracts with more than 20 defense-related clients, including direct deals with the Russian Ministry of Defense and other defense enterprises.

As previously reported, in the Russian city of Izhevsk, Ukrainian strike UAVs previously damaged four drone production workshops at the Kupol plant.
