Ukraine is considering the development of airbikes and air-mobile buggies to rapidly transport troops to frontline positions.

Brave1 Director Andrii Hrytseniuk announced this during a briefing attended by a Militarnyi correspondent. Development of these projects could be supported through Brave1 grant funding.

At present, transporting personnel to frontline positions – whether on foot or in armored personnel carriers – remains relatively easy to detect.

“However, technologies have already emerged around the world that make it possible to develop airbikes and airbuggies. We are also beginning to work in this area,” Hrytseniuk said.

According to him, these airbikes and air-mobile buggies could be designed as optionally unmanned platforms, allowing the aircraft to autonomously return to base after disembarking troops.

“This capability would support a range of missions – from rapidly inserting personnel into positions and deploying troops to more specialized applications during special operations,” he added.

Last year, the Polish company Volonaut unveiled the Airbike, a jet-powered personal flying vehicle.

The aircraft is propelled by a cluster of approximately five turbojet engines. Flight stability is maintained by an onboard flight computer that automatically balances the vehicle and assists with flight control.

The structure is manufactured from carbon-fiber composite, making the Airbike approximately seven times lighter than a conventional motorcycle. It has a top speed of around 200 km/h, while its minimalist design provides the pilot with an unobstructed field of view.

In Sweden, Jetson has developed the Jetson ONE, a single-seat, all-electric crewed multicopter.

The company markets it as a personal aerial vehicle that can be operated with minimal training and does not require advanced piloting skills.

The Jetson ONE features a lightweight aluminum-carbon fiber frame, an open single-seat cockpit, and eight electric motors with propellers arranged to provide stability and redundancy.
