Ukraine is using guided bombs developed by two of eight Ukrainian manufacturers against Russian forces.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced this during the Brave1 Advantage event.

Although achieving the full operational effectiveness of these new precision-strike weapons is a lengthy process, the current results already demonstrate significant potential.

According to Fedorov, the strike statistics and the performance of the domestically developed bombs during the testing phase are “pleasantly impressive.”

Development is currently being conducted in a modular approach, with systems being designed across different weight classes, featuring varying tactical and technical characteristics and operating principles.

The development of Ukrainian bombs is part of the broader Brave1 innovation strategy.

According to Fedorov, a “80/20” procurement model has now been introduced, under which 20% of the budget is allocated to innovative capabilities that undergo testing at specialized proving grounds.

In May 2026 Militarnyi reported that the Ukrainian Air Force had received the first experimental batch of Ukrainian guided aerial bombs. At the time, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said the development program had taken 17 months.
