A hundred Russian soldiers detained by the military commandant’s office for unauthorized abandonment of the unit attempted to escape from the fenced area of the military commandant’s office.

This was reported by Astra.

To escape, the soldiers broke the fence and then entered the territory of the military commandant’s office.

Law enforcement forces were deployed to the scene, cordoned off the area, and began searching and checking passing vehicles.

It is not yet known how many people managed to escape and how many of them were detained by the Russian police.

It should be noted that unauthorized abandonment of units in the Russian army is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon, especially against the background of forced mobilization, which is carried out by abducting male Russian citizens, as well as due to the cruel and humiliating attitude of commanders towards their own soldiers.

For example, in the Ivanovo region of Russia, unidentified persons kidnap men and force them to sign a contract to participate in the war against Ukraine. The disappeared men were people who lived in poverty, abused alcohol, had odd jobs, and had serious health problems.

According to local residents, both local authorities and security forces may be involved in these abductions, trying to force people to join the war and use them in mass assaults on Ukrainian positions.

In addition, Moscow has recently begun raids on conscripts as part of Russia’s largest conscription campaign in 14 years. At least five draftees were detained by police on the streets of Moscow and taken to a police station.

As a reason for the detention, law enforcement officers showed a photo with a wanted notice issued by the military commissariat.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that similar treatment of people can be traced in the Russian army both in general and on the front line, where the military, according to them, are kept like cattle and in terrible conditions. In addition, the soldiers who are not discharged due to the loss of limbs are sent back to the front lines on crutches.

For example, in February 2025, a case was recorded when Russian commanders sent two infantrymen to assault Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovske sector – one on crutches and the other who could not walk.
