Russia is capable of producing up to 80 S8000 Banderol missiles per month, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported this to Militarnyi in response to an inquiry.
The Banderol was designed and manufactured by Kronstadt JSC. The missile has a maximum speed of 620–650 km/h and a cruising speed of 520–560 km/h.
The missile is equipped with an OFBCh-150 high-explosive fragmentation warhead with a total weight of 114.3 kilograms. Of this, 49.5 kilograms is the explosive filling.
They have a relatively short range of about 500 km, which is why Russia frequently launches them from Crimea toward Odesa.
Earlier, Militarnyi reported that Russian enterprises operate in three shifts to maintain the stated production rates. At the same time, Russia uses Western-made components to manufacture ammunition.
According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), these components reach Russia through intermediaries, including companies linked to Russian oligarchs and enterprises in the Russian defense-industrial sector.
Thus, Russia’s defense industry retains the ability to scale up production of Banderols, despite sanctions and the need to source some components through complex supply chains.
