The Japanese company Terra Drone is preparing to invest in a Ukrainian company capable of manufacturing jet-powered drones.
Yuji Morita, the company’s Defense Business Manager, announced this in an interview with Militarnyi.
Terra Drone has previously invested in Ukrainian drone manufacturers Amazing Drones and WinnyLab.
However, the company is still seeking a partner capable of implementing its jet-powered drone project.
“We are also negotiating and cooperating with various companies regarding this model,” Yuji Morita shared.
In April, during a presentation, Terra Drone disclosed specifications for a planned jet-powered drone:
Terra Drone aims to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into its systems, enabling drones to independently acquire targets.
“In this way, we create stable structures of echeloned defense. That is why we invest in various projects,” Morita noted.
The company has already begun operational deployment of its Terra A2 interceptor drone in Ukraine, which was developed jointly with the Ukrainian company WinnyLab.
The flagship development from Amazing Drones is the Terra A1 interceptor drone, capable of speeds up to 300 km/h.
The Japanese side’s main contribution is investment in mass production, technology development, and access to global sales networks.
“Then we combine innovative ideas from Ukraine with strict Japanese quality control and production design capabilities,” Morita emphasized.
