The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has certified and authorized the Cyclops interceptor drone for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian defense ministry reported that the drone is highly maneuverable and provides precise and smooth control at various speeds.
The Cyclops UAS was developed by a Ukrainian company. The system has several variants.
The first variant is less expensive, simpler in design, and easier to operate. These are designed to engage ground targets, as well as slow-moving aerial targets at low altitudes.
The second variant has significantly higher tactical and technical characteristics and is designed to effectively engage high-speed Shahed drones at high altitudes.
The Cyclops has a wingspan of just over one meter and can remain airborne for nearly 1.5 hours.
The drone is capable of reaching altitudes that exceed the maximum flight altitude of Russian strike and reconnaissance drones.
The system’s operational range is sufficient to protect any regional center in Ukraine from drone attacks.
The Cyclops UAV’s compact size and high speed significantly reduce the risk of it being shot down by enemy systems.
According to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Cyclops V2 UAV has already destroyed over a hundred aerial targets.
It was the Cyclops that was the first to take down a Russian Shahed drone over the Kursk region.
In May, the Come Back Alive Foundation also donated Cyclops drones to the Ukrainian military.
