Russia has developed modular metal structures called “Web” to protect infrastructure facilities from drone attacks.

RT-Project Technologies developed the product in partnership with Standard-Elektrik. The presentation was held at a closed event in Tver.

The manufacturer claims that the modules in the basic version can withstand a direct hit from a drone weighing up to 200 kilograms and flying at 250 kilometers per hour.

The solution is designed to protect facilities such as oil storage facilities, electrical substations, and other critical infrastructure.

The structure has undergone field tests for seismic stability. At the same time, tests of the product’s resistance to strikes by various types of drones are ongoing.

It is claimed that the “Web” can protect facilities more than 25 meters high and cover areas of any size.

The product is currently undergoing trial operation at several fuel and energy facilities.

The protective structure consists of load-bearing columns, a power network, and supports. It is mounted exclusively with bolted joints and does not require welding, allowing it to be installed in confined spaces and in areas with an increased fire hazard. This reduces costs while increasing the speed and safety of installation.

All metal structures receive factory-applied anti-corrosion protection through hot-dip galvanizing.

This year, hackers gained access to a confidential project by the Russian corporation Rosneft dedicated to protecting its infrastructure from attacks by Ukrainian drones.
