Fortifications and new defensive lines are being built on the border of the Chernihiv region.

The Operational Command North demonstrated the progress of the works.

According to the military, the work on the fortification has been ongoing for several months.

Defensive lines are being built in the relevant areas, and a system of engineering barriers is being created.

Strongholds of the intermediate defense line are being erected, and dugouts are being built to protect Ukrainian soldiers in their positions.

In front of the fortifications, engineers also place non-explosive engineering barriers in the likely directions of the enemy’s offensive.

Dragon’s teeth and other non-explosive barriers are being installed to slow down the movement of armored vehicles and tanks, as well as infantry.

It is noted that the military is working together with civilian construction workers and engineers.

“They assure us that the existing fortifications will be able to significantly slow down the enemy if it plans another offensive. At the same time, the work continues daily, and the build-up of defensive lines is growing every week,” the Operational Command North stated.

According to Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, since the beginning of this year, the government has allocated UAH 20 billion for fortifications and construction of defense borders in different regions of the country.

The funds were allocated for the construction of high-quality, mostly concrete fortifications and engineering non-explosive barriers.

Work is also underway in other regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions.
