Ukrainian 112L4 muzzle velocity radar will enter service with the artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense allowed the use of the radar in the military.
The domestic radar produced by the holding company Ukrspetstekhnika will increase the hit precision on enemy positions.
The Ministry of Defense notes that until now, Ukrainian gunners have been using either obsolete Soviet ABS-1 or Danish Weibel radars.
112L4, which operates in the Ka-band frequencies, is designed to measure the muzzle velocity of ballistic objects (shells and bullets) of various calibers.
The radar weighing up to 10 kg can be deployed in two ways – both on the ground on a tripod, and on self-propelled artillery systems. It can also be integrated into artillery fire control systems.
In the stationary version, with the help of a mechanical pedestal, the radar can turn in the azimuth projection ± 180º, and in the angle of site from 0º ÷ 70º.
From the traveling position to the combat ready position device is brought in 15 minutes. The operator’s position is located in a safe place, at a distance of 50 m from the radar.
According to the representative of the developer, the radar will increase the accuracy of the Ukrainian artillery, and therefore will reduce the ammunition consumption.
Specifications:
The Defense Ministry emphasizes that now Ukrainian gunners will have a domestic radar, which, with the exception of the element base, is composed of components of Ukrainian origin.
“In addition, the mathematical apparatus and software are completely Ukrainian development,” the Ministry of Defense added in a statement.
