The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the agreement on a 100-year partnership with the United Kingdom.

MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced the ratification.

Initially signed in January 2025, the agreement aims to strengthen strategic ties between Ukraine and the United Kingdom across security and other key sectors. It encompasses broad cooperation ranging from economic and scientific collaboration to defense.

A key focus of the agreement is the deepening of the military partnership: both countries will work to bolster their defense-industrial complexes, expand Ukraine’s defense procurement capabilities, and facilitate technology exchange.

This will enable the establishment of joint production of weaponry, including unmanned systems. The United Kingdom has also confirmed its readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in countering Russian aggression and in the event of a potential new war.

The agreement provides for the coordination of efforts toward Ukraine’s accession to NATO, the development of maritime security in the Baltic, Black, and Azov Seas, as well as the strengthening of cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity and countering information interference.

A separate focus is placed on building joint scientific, technological, and innovation potential.
