Ukrainian Marines Guided American HIMARS to Target as Part of Sea Breeze 2025 Exercises

Ukrainian marines from the 30th Marine Corps guided the US Marine Corps’ HIMARS at a simulated enemy command post as part of the Sea Breeze 2025 exercise.

This was reported by the TV and Radio Studio of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “Breeze”.

The reconnaissance, targeting and correction were carried out by the Ukrainian operators of the Leleka-100 UAV of the separate unmanned systems battalion of the 30th Marine Corps.

At the same time, the fire mission was given to the American calculation by the headquarters of the multinational battalion under the leadership of a Ukrainian commander from the 30th Marine Corps.

“Of course, we did not know until the last moment, we were not warned that something was going to happen. That is, we received a task from our command to conduct additional reconnaissance, adjustments, and observation of HIMARS firing. That is, just like in combat missions, we always keep our complex as prepared as possible for work,” says Yehor, a soldier of the separate unmanned systems battalion.

According to the Ukrainian military, the partners highly appreciated the training of this episode of the complex. Because they gained invaluable experience that they would hardly have gained sitting in a room somewhere with the slides on.

“In general, all fire tasks were completed in full. The partners are satisfied – it was interesting for them to try themselves as an element of the system that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been building over the past three years on the battlefield. First and foremost, this fire mission was of practical importance for the Ukrainian side in practicing algorithms of action, planning and fire damage according to NATO standards, which our partners had previously provided to the battalion headquarters as part of the preparatory stage of this training complex,” says a soldier with the call sign Brooks, head of the training’s executive staff.

Shortly before that, Ukrainian marines from the 30th Marine Corps trained Romanian and Moldovan soldiers in modern tactics of assaulting fortifications as part of the Sea Breeze 2025 multinational exercise.
