On Monday night, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck strategic military and industrial facilities in Russia and occupied Crimea.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the targets was an explosives and ammunition plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.
An oil terminal in Feodosia, located in the temporarily occupied Crimea, was also hit.
“As part of the reduction of the enemy’s offensive potential and ability to carry out missile and bomb strikes, on the night of October 6, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the infrastructure of the federal state enterprise Sverdlov Plant,” the General Staff said.
The company is one of Russia’s largest explosives manufacturers.
The plant is capable of producing almost all types of ammunition: aircraft and artillery shells, aircraft bombs, including corrected bombs, warheads of cumulative anti-tank guided missiles, ammunition for engineer troops, and warheads of air defense missile systems.
As part of industrial cooperation, the enterprise assembles unified glide bombs used across different branches of the Russian armed forces.
In addition, in the occupied Crimea, the facilities of the Sea Oil Terminal JSC in Feodosia were damaged.
This is a multifunctional technological complex that provides transshipment of oil and oil products between railroad tank cars, ships and road transport.
The facility is actively used for logistics support of the Russian occupation army groups.
As a result of the hit, a large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the terminal.
Separately, the ammunition depot of a separate logistics battalion of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation in Crimea was hit. The results of the strike are being clarified.
