Three more units from the “Offensive Guard” joined the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine in addition to the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov”.

This was reported by the press service of the corps on its Telegram page.

The operational and tactical unit of the National Guard is headed by Colonel Denis “Redis” Prokopenko.

The corps from the “Offensive Guard” includes the following units:

  • 1st Presidential Operational Brigade “Bureviy”;
  • 14th Operational Brigade “Chervona Kalyna”;
  • 15th Operational Brigade “Kara-Dag”.

It also includes the newly created 20th Special Forces Brigade “Lubart”, which was reorganized from the 5th Special Forces Battalion “Lubart” of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov”.

Thus, the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, together with the Azov Brigade, will include five combat units. All of them have been involved in repelling large-scale Russian aggression since the first days.

In addition to them, the unit will include a number of other units. It is already known that the Azov engineer company has become a support battalion within the corps.

It should be remembered that in early 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a campaign to recruit volunteers for the assault brigades of the NGU, the State Border Guard Service and the National Police called the “Offensive Guard.”

These are:

  • 1st Presidential Operational Brigade of the NGU “Bureviy”;
  • The 3rd Operational Brigade of the NGU “Spartan”;
  • 4th Operational Brigade of the NGU “Rubizh”;
  • 12th Special Forces Brigade of the NGU “Azov”;
  • 13th Special Task Force Brigade of the NGU “Charter”;
  • 14th Special Task Force Brigade of the NGU “Chervona Kalyna”;
  • 15th operational brigade of the NGU “Kara-Dag”;
  • Special Forces Brigade “Liut” of the National Police of Ukraine;

By the end of March 2023, it was officially announced that their formation had been completed, and further manning was carried out at the expense of contract volunteers and mobilized citizens of Ukraine liable for military service.
