The Ukrainian military seized Russian tanks of three various modifications

The Armed Forces of Ukraine in the eastern direction captured a number of tanks of various modifications of the Russian army.

Ukrainian politician Yuriy Mysyagin said that one of the detachments of the 93rd Brigade captured Russian tanks.

Soldiers of the brigade captured two damaged Russian Т-72B3M and Т-80BVM tanks.

It is indicated that the tanks will either be restored and continue service in the brigade, or they will be used for the necessary spare parts.

The T-72B3 modification was developed as a mass and economic alternative to the Т-90А MBT for the Russian Army.

The military of Ukraine captured a later modification – Т-72B3M. This modification of the Т-72B3M, developed by Uralvagonzavod on the basis of Т-72BЗ, was first shown in 2018 at the parade on the Red Square.

The tank received a new engine with capacity of 1130 hp, an updated gun of increased accuracy and survivability, explosive reactive armor “Relikt” and standoff armor.

The Т-80BVM tank is a modernized version of the Т-80BV tank, which is equipped with new autoloading mechanisms, which allowed the use of elongated ammunition.

Among the advantages of the “jet tank,” as also called Т-80BVM for its engine sound, are the comfort of the crew in cold weather, the ease of starting a gas turbine engine in frost.

Among the disadvantages of the Т-80BVM against Т-72 tankers mention relatively weak visibility. The tank has three triplexes, visibility is partially overlapped by reactive armor components.

Also, the Ukrainian military captured the tank of another modification of the Т-80 is Т-80U tank.

The T-80U tank was adopted by the Soviet Armed Forces in 1985.
