In less than six months, US company Forterra manufactured and delivered more than 100 Lancer unmanned transport platforms based on the Polaris Ranger buggy to Ukraine.

The company reported this in a press release.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces received 105 such vehicles. The project was implemented under a US government program launched in 2024, and the contract was concluded through March 2025.

The Lancer platform is based on the Polaris Ranger 1500 and is equipped with Forterra’s AutoDrive autonomous control system and Vektor communications system.

The Polaris Ranger 1500 (Ranger XD 1500) is a heavy-duty multipurpose UTV (utility task vehicle), or side-by-side, developed by US company Polaris to transport people and cargo in difficult conditions.

The vehicle has a 110-horsepower engine. The Ranger 1500 can carry up to 680 kilograms of cargo in its bed and tow trailers weighing up to 1.6 tons.

Independent suspension on all wheels, ground clearance of up to 406 millimeters, and all-wheel drive provide high off-road capability.

To date, Lancer UGVs have covered more than 4,000 kilometers in Ukraine and completed more than 1,100 missions.

During this time, they transported about 352.6 tons of cargo and carried out 52 casualty evacuations (CASEVAC).

It was previously reported that in October 2025, BAE Systems and Forterra joined forces to develop the autonomous AMPV combat vehicle for the US Army.
