The U.S. demonstrated the combat capabilities of ALTIUS-600 drones to be received by Ukraine

In February of this year, the United States first announced the transfer of ALTIUS-600 drones to Ukraine, which can perform both reconnaissance and combat missions.

These drones were included in one of the US military aid packages.

UAVs of the ALTIUS family have a modular design that allows using a large range of available payloads and performing various tasks.

Recently, a video was released showing the use of the ALTIUS-600M unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a warhead and designed to hit various targets.

The footage captures the drone after launch, making a horizontal flight to the desired area, where it starts searching for a ground target, which was a shipping container at the training ground.

After detecting the desired target, the drone starts descending and approaching it. Then a direct hit is observed, accompanied by a powerful explosion of the warhead located in the bow of the ALTIUS-600M, although the type of warhead and its weight are not disclosed.

ALTIUS-600 UAV is one meter long with a wingspan of 2.54 m. The drone weighs 12.25 kg, including the payload, which can be up to 3 kg. It is primarily intended for aerial surveillance and reconnaissance.

The drone can be launched from the air, ground, and sea from systems like the Common Launch Tube (CLT), Pneumatically Integrated Launch System (PILS), and other launch systems. The UAV’s wings deploy quickly after being ejected from the launch tube. It has a two-blade propeller engine in the tail.

The bow of the ALTIUS-600 can accommodate a variety of intelligence-gathering equipment or EW devices.

In addition, the drone can be equipped with a warhead that turns this UAV into a kamikaze drone.

The flight of ALTIUS-600 can be controlled manually using the remote control system of the ground control station. It can also fly along a programmed route.

At the same time, the aircraft can stay in the air for up to 4 hours. Its declared flight range is 440 km.
