The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the armored vehicles of the Russian military with the American anti-tank missile system.

The video featuring the hit was released.

Armored vehicles of the Russians were eliminated by the operator of the FGM-148 Javelin portable anti-tank missile system.

The servicemen managed to accurately hit the BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle.

The armored vehicle was abandoned by the Russian crew in the field.

Presumably, the Ukrainian servicemen couldn’t approach the armored vehicle and decided to destroy it.

The military observed the defeat of the Russian vehicle with the help of the unmanned aerial vehicle.

Javelin

In May, the United States Armed Forces ordered new Javelin anti-tank missiles. A part of them is intended to be shipped to Ukraine.

Javelin anti-tank missile systems are developed and produced by the Javelin Joint Venture, a partnership of Raytheon Missiles & Defense and Lockheed Martin.

The first serial third-generation ATGM is equipped with “fire-and-forget” gunsight.

The FGM-148 Javelin ATGM missile has a thermal homing head, so the operator of the missile system does not need to monitor and adjust the flight of the missile after the launch while it is approaching the target.

From April 30, 2018, the first systems began to arrive in Ukraine, and have been successfully used against Russian military equipment from February 24, 2022.
