Soldiers of Ukraine showed launcher of the “Switchblade 300” in action

The Ukrainian Defense Forces demonstrated the launcher of the Switchblade unmanned aerial vehicle.

The video was released on the social network by a Ukrainian soldier named “Che Ua”.

This is the first time that autonomous ground launch of a kamikaze drone has been demonstrated.

“Switchblade 300” is supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the United States of America.

These drones are becoming more widely used in the East and are great against unarmored targets and infantry.

The video shows the launch of the drone performed by the fighter of the assault unit “Shalena Zgraya”.

Switchblade 300 is a product of the American company AeroVironment.

Kamikaze drone has a weight of 2.5 kg; flight altitude: 150-4500 meters and cruising speed up to 100 km/h.

It is folded inside a special launch container, and its wings unfold after launch. The control can be executed at a distance of up to 10 km, but its small size limits its stay in the air to 10 minutes.

This makes it poorly suited for reconnaissance missions, but it is useful for hitting long-range targets and firing support for units under heavy enemy fire.

The drone uses a color camera and GPS to identify, track and hit targets, and has the ability of pre-programming for attacking a pre-detected target. The warhead has an explosive charge equivalent to a 40-mm grenade to destroy light armored vehicles and personnel.

Previously, Ukrainian Special Forces have demonstrated how a kamikaze drone strikes the manpower of the Russian invaders.
