Russia ratifies strategic partnership agreement with the DPRK

Russia signs a law ratifying the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and the DPRK.

The document signed by Vladimir Putin was published on the Russian legal information portal.

The agreement itself was signed in June of this year during Putin’s visit to North Korea and approved by the Federal Assembly a few days ago.

According to the text of the treaty, in the event of an armed attack on one of the parties, the other undertakes to immediately provide military and other assistance.

The parties also agreed not to enter into agreements with third countries directed against each other and not to allow the use of their territory to violate the sovereignty of the other party.

In addition, the document enshrines commitments to strengthen the “multipolar world order” and develop cross-border cooperation.

About ten thousand troops have already been sent from North Korea to Russia to participate in the war with Ukraine.

Ukrainian intelligence claims that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have already engaged North Korean troops in the Kursk region.

NATO strongly condemned the expansion of military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK.

The Alliance emphasized that the deployment of North Korean troops is a dangerous escalation and violates UN Security Council resolutions.

Such an increase in support for Moscow in its aggressive war against Ukraine is a matter of serious concern to the international community, the statement reads.

Russian troops also began using North Korean 7.62x54R-mm Type 73 machine guns.
