Debris from an unidentified object resembling a drone was found in eastern Romania on September 29.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense said a fire broke out after the object crashed. The fire was extinguished.
The debris was found on farmland on Insula Mare a Brăilei near the village of Gropeni in Brăila County.
The incident was reported overnight after a local resident called the 112 emergency number.
After the report, units of Romania’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of the Romanian Intelligence Service arrived at the site.
The Romanian Defense Ministry also stated that its radar systems had not detected any unauthorized entry into the country’s airspace during the previous night.
Drones have increasingly entered Romanian airspace recently. On September 24, a drone that entered Romanian airspace from Ukraine and remained there for four minutes crashed in the country.
