The Raid Regiment, in coordination with other components of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, struck the Snizhne Machine-Building Plant in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
The regiment reported the strike on social media and published footage of the attack.
The strike took place in September 2026. Operators of the 4th Battalion’s UAVs carried out the operation.
The video footage suggests the strike used “middle-strike” drones manufactured by Ukrainian company Fire Point.
The Raid Regiment said the Snizhne Machine-Building Plant plays an important role in Russia’s military industry.
Russia uses the plant’s facilities to manufacture components for military aircraft and helicopter engines.
The plant specializes in producing parts for gas-turbine engines, including compressor and turbine disks and blades.
On September 11, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the plant had been successfully struck in the temporarily occupied territory.
The Snizhne Machine-Building Plant was a separate division of the Ukrainian company Motor Sich JSC. It was located in the city of Snizhne in Donetsk region, which came under Russian occupation after 2014.
In December 2017, Motor Sich JSC announced that it had lost control of the assets of the Snizhne Machine-Building Plant. In January 2018, Vyacheslav Boguslaev told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty that the company had transferred the Snizhne plant to a foreign company.
“Ownership remained with us. This is management, not ownership. We transferred the plant to another company for management. We cannot operate there under Ukrainian law. We hired a company to manage our plant. But the plant remains fully subordinate to and under the full control of Motor Sich,” he said.
He also noted that Motor Sich would continue purchasing products from the plant, but in “another country,” without specifying which country at the time.
In 2023, Boguslaev was formally notified that he was suspected of paying “taxes” and “fees” to the budget of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic” after Russia’s full-scale invasion began. This was linked to his continued cooperation with the Snizhne Machine-Building Plant, which is located in occupied territory.
