Ozon Sold $292 Million Worth of Dual-Use and Military Goods in One Year

From August 2025 to July 2026, users of the Russian marketplace Ozon ordered more than $292 million (25 billion rubles) worth of dual-use and military goods.

This is according to internal analytics data from the marketplace, which was examined by the Verstka journalists.

Verstka identified 33 categories of goods that can be used for combat operations. During the year, more than 2.13 million units of such products were purchased on Ozon.

The largest amount — 9.14 billion rubles ($106.3 million) — was spent on military tactical gear. This category included body armor, helmets, load-bearing systems and belts, armor plates and adapters, as well as neck and shoulder protection.

Nearly 157,700 body armor vests alone were ordered over the course of the year, totaling 5.07 billion rubles ($59 million). Another 1.48 billion rubles ($17.2 million) was spent on 81,100 helmets.

The military optics segment ranked second in terms of volume — nearly 7.22 billion rubles ($84 million). It includes red dot sights, optical sights, digital sights, and thermal imaging sights, as well as mounts, night vision devices, and thermal imagers.

Standard optical sights were the most frequently purchased items — over 110,000 units. Users also ordered nearly 99,000 red dot sights and over 28,000 thermal imaging sights.

Another 6.26 billion rubles ($72.8 million) was spent on Ozon for drones and their components. About half of this amount — 3 billion rubles ($34.9 million) — went toward accessories for drones and quadcopters, including frames, propellers, receivers, and video cameras.

Separately, users spent over 1.15 billion rubles ($13.4 million) on nearly 96,000 drone batteries. Ready-to-fly drones accounted for about 1.7 billion rubles ($19.8 million): nearly 32,400 quadcopters and 18,600 other drones were purchased.

Another nearly 2.46 billion rubles ($28.6 million) was spent on components and accessories for small arms.

That is why the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to strike warehouses of Russian marketplaces where goods that can be used for military purposes are stored.

Earlier, Verstka reported that military-grade goods worth hundreds of millions of rubles were also being sold through another major Russian marketplace, Wildberries. In addition, a specialized marketplace for dual-use goods, Roy.Market, has appeared in Russia.
