Ireland to Provide New €125 Million Aid Package to Ukraine

The Irish government has announced that it will provide Ukraine with €125 million in aid.

The announcement was made during Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin’s visit to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The package includes 100 million euros for non-lethal military equipment, as well as an additional 25 million euros for the restoration and protection of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The package complements the equipment provided by the Irish Armed Forces, including vehicles, satellite communication systems, and Giraffe Mark IV radar systems, the delivery of which was announced on October 14 of last year.

With this package, the total amount of Irish aid to Ukraine will exceed 670 million euros.

This amount includes over 254 million euros for humanitarian aid and stabilization support (including 27 million euros for energy support), over 200 million euros for military aid, and 94 million euros for non-lethal military aid to Ukraine under the European Peace Fund (EPF).

“Ukraine is a central focus of our EU Presidency,” said Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Helen McEntee.

In March, Ireland approved an additional package of non-lethal military aid to Ukraine worth 100 million euros and authorized the deployment of peacekeepers without UN approval.
