Iran’s military receives hundreds of new UAVs

The Iranian military received more than 200 domestic-made UAVs of various types.

Militarnyi reports on this.

A presentation ceremony was held in several regions of the country for more than 200 UAVs jointly developed and manufactured by the Iranian Ministry of Defense and the Department of Logistics of the Armed Forces.

The new drones for the military became part of last year’s contract with the Ministry of Defense to increase the capacity of the fleet of drones of the country’s armed forces. According to the first stage of the contract, the ministry pledged to equip the military with 1000 drones of various types.

The drones captured by the photo include the latest Ababil-4 and Ababil-5 reconnaissance and combat UAVs, as well as Arash, Karrar, 10th Shahrivar, Akhgar, and Meraj-521 loitering munition, which is also known as the “Iranian switchblade.”

High-quality images of the new Ababil-5 reconnaissance and combat UAVs developed by HESA and their weapons have been published. This drone was first presented in 2022.

The footage also includes missiles placed under the wings, which are visually similar to the enlarged version of the Almas anti-tank guided missiles.

Additionally, a large number of Akhgar kamikaze drones were presented, which, according to external features, could be assessed as a drone in the Arash and Shahed-131 niche.

The presented models also include Karrar drones, developed in 2009. These drones do not have a warhead, so they are used as weapons carriers suspended under the fuselage.

The photo shows ammunition samples, which include gravity bombs, the guided missile, and even light 324mm torpedoes.
