The Ukrainian military, with the help of FPV kamikaze drones, destroyed a Russian Tyulpan 240mm self-propelled mortar.

The enemy mortar was hit by the soldiers of the Strike Unmanned Aerial Systems Company (RUBpAK) Bulava of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians.

The corresponding video was published by the military on Telegram.

According to observers tracking the course of hostilities between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, the self-propelled mortar of invaders was destroyed near the village of Solodke, Donetsk region.

2S4 Tyulpan were discovered by the Ukrainian military on the field road.

It is likely that Russians from this heavy self-propelled mortar fired or prepared for shelling the positions of Ukrainian Defense Forces. This is evidenced by the self-propelled gun barrel deployed into firing position.

Published footage from the Ukrainian military shows several FPV drones alternately striking the Russian mortar.

Ukrainian drones were equipped with one of the PG-7 HEAT projectiles versions, which are usually fired from a RPG-7 hand grenade launcher. These ammunition are specially designed to destroy armored vehicles.

A series of FPV drone hits resulted in significant damage to the enemy heavy mortar and its actual destruction.

In the Russian-Ukrainian war, invaders used these systems mainly to destroy the most fortified positions. And on the account of the military of Defense Forces of Ukraine there are already more than ten destroyed Russian Tyulpans.

The 2S4 Tyulpan self-propelled mortar is based on the 240mm towed mortar M-240. Its manufacturer is the Uraltransmash. The mortar is designed to destroy fortifications, manpower and enemy equipment with conventional and special (nuclear) projectiles.
