Lipetsk regional Governor Igor Artamonov reports a fire “in one of the shops” of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant (NLMK).

He blamed the drone crash for the incident.

According to Artamonov, there were no casualties and no emissions of harmful substances.

A little later, he called on the population of the region to remain calm, assuring them that the special services were on maximum alert and were checking information about the drone raid.

Later, he reported only that two drones had been intercepted in the Lipetsk region.

At the same time, at night, residents of the region reported hearing explosions near Lipetsk, from the direction of a metallurgical plant, preceded by the hum of a drone in the sky.

After that, a fire broke out on the territory of the coke chemical workshop. At night, the Russian Defense Ministry reported only interceptions of drones over the territory of Russian regions.

Thus, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, one drone was allegedly intercepted over the territory of the Tula region, two drones were allegedly intercepted over the Lipetsk region, and another was destroyed in the sky over the Kursk region.

According to the sources of the Ukrainian state TV channel Army TV, the night attack on the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant was jointly organized by the SSU and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

This metallurgical plant works for the Russian military-industrial complex and fulfills a large number of government orders.

Raw materials from this enterprise are used to manufacture Russian missiles, artillery, and drones.

It is reported that the drones hit the units intended for the primary cooling of untreated coke oven gas. Work at the plant will not resume for a long time.
