Bulgaria reveals how much they earned on weapons for Ukraine

In less than six months, Bulgaria has transferred to Ukraine weapons worth 2.7 billion dollars.

The former Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Kiril Petkov, made a corresponding comment.

According to Kiril Petkov, the city of Sopot and the city of Kazanlak, which are engaged in the production of weapons, have been working intensively in the interests of the military industry.

In 164 days, their income reached about 5 billion Bulgarian levs.

It is noted that Bulgaria does not have direct contracts for the delivery of weapons to Ukraine, but the American and British governments were engaged in such exports from Bulgaria.

The former prime minister of Bulgaria said that it was important for his country to show solidarity with Ukraine together with its European partners.

Kiril Petkov also criticized President Rumen Radev because of the head of state’s statement from Brussels that Bulgaria had to reduce military aid to Ukraine.

“Imagine that our neighbor attacks us. Then he says – let’s conclude a truce, and the EU does not help us with the territories just so that there is peace. Supporting Ukraine protects human lives. Bulgaria belongs to the European family, I don’t want to be a citizen of a country that supports an aggressor,” Petkov said in an interview with bTV.

As previously reported, at the beginning of the war, a third of Ukrainian ammunition was supplied from Bulgaria.

Bulgaria is known for its political stance against the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

However, the facts of the use of Bulgarian weapons by the Ukrainian military show that Sofia has massively supported Kyiv with ammunition and diesel fuel during the decisive months of the war.

In order to avoid the official supply of weapons, ammunition and weapons entered Ukraine indirectly. During certain periods of hostilities, Bulgaria covered one-third of the Ukrainian military’s artillery ammunition needs.
