USF Strikes Russian Patrol Ship Svetlyak in Caspian Sea

The Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) hit a Russian Project 10410 Svetlyak patrol ship of the FSB Border Service in the Caspian Sea near the city of Kaspiysk in Dagestan.

USF commander Robert “Magyar” Brovdi published the video of the incident.

Judging by the footage, the ship was attacked while underway using a drone with real-time control from Fire Point. The Russian ship attempted to return fire with automatic cannons but failed to shoot down the drone.

The strike drone caught up with the ship and hit the stern superstructure below the mast with radio equipment.

This is the fourth Russian ship hit in the Caspian Sea in May 2026. On the night of May 7, Ukrainian Defense Forces drones targeted a Project 22800 Karakurt small missile ship, and on the night of May 15, they hit a small missile ship and a minesweeper. All strikes occurred near the Russian naval base in Kaspiysk.

In total, according to the USF commander, during the nights of May 16 and 17, 186 strikes were conducted under the coordination of the Center for Deep Strike of the Unmanned Systems Forces on 46 military targets and facilities in Russia and in the rear areas of temporarily occupied Crimea and the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions.

Project 10410 patrol ship Svetlyak

Project 10410 ships were designed in the mid-1980s to replace Project 205 border boats. The lead ship of the PSKR-900 series was built in 1988 at the Vladivostok Shipbuilding Plant.

The ship is intended for service in the FSB Border Service, control of the state border, protection of natural resources in this zone, coastal communications and infrastructure, protection of vessels from attack, and defense against air and underwater threats.

The ship’s full displacement is 375 tons. Its crew is 28 people. The length is 49.5 m, the width is 9.2 m, the height is 4.63 m, and the draft is 2.16 m. The power plant has a capacity of 5,400 hp and provides a top speed of up to 29 knots. The cruising range is 2,200 nautical miles at 13 knots, with an endurance of up to 10 days.

A feature of the ships is an automated economical diesel installation, which simplifies operation, enables speeds of over 30 knots, and provides long cruising range at economical speed.

Depending on the place of construction and modification, the ships have different armament. The base version built by Almaz is armed with a 76.2 mm AK-176M artillery mount, a 30 mm AK-630M automatic cannon, 16 Igla MANPADS, as well as mounts for 14.5 mm machine guns and MRG-1 or DP-64 anti-sabotage grenade launchers.

Ships of Project 10410B and those built by the Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant have simplified armament: instead of AK-176M and AK-630M, they use 30 mm AK-306 or AK-306M cannons.

Two Project 10410V ships — Nevelsk and Nakhodka — were commissioned in 2021. Their armament was further simplified to improve crew conditions: only one 30 mm AK-306 was retained, and the second mount was replaced with 12.7 mm Kord machine guns.

Modernized Project 10410 ships of new construction began after orders were placed in 2016. This version restored the original armament configuration with a 76.2 mm AK-176MA and a modernized 30 mm AK-630.
