Powerful explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied Mariupol late in the evening of December 14.

According to preliminary data, a fire broke out at the location of Russian troops.

Eyewitnesses wrote about this on social media on Friday night.

Information about the explosions was also confirmed on the Telegram channel of the Mariupol City Council.

“Powerful explosions were heard. Something is burning strongly behind the PortCity shopping mall. Ambulances are now on their way there. We are waiting for details and official information from the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the report said.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosions occurred around 11:30 p.m.

Journalist Denis Kazansky published a video of a massive fire in Mariupol. According to him, it broke out after a hit near the PortCity and Metro shopping malls.

The footage showed a thick column of black smoke rising into the sky and the glow of the flames.

It is reported that the fire probably occurred in the area where the Russian invaders were stationed on the territory of a concrete plant.

After the explosions, firefighters and ambulances arrived at the scene.

According to published videos and photos from eyewitnesses, the fire was large in area. It was seen in several districts of the temporarily occupied Mariupol.

After midnight, some Russian propaganda outlets claimed that “the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired three long-range missiles toward Mariupol.”
