A sea drifting mine was detected near the coast of Odesa.

The Ukrainian Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported about this.

It was noted that it was neutralized by special units of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Ukraine’s defense forces discovered another drifting sea mine in the Odesa region. The dangerous find was promptly destroyed by a special unit of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the report said.

As previously reported, 270,000 square kilometers in Ukraine need to be demined.

Complete demining of territories contaminated with explosive objects will take 5-10 years.

According to an estimate for June 2022, the area of “pollution” in the water area of the Black and Azov Seas may be up to 19,000 square kilometers.

Ukraine’s partners finance a number of programs for Ukraine related to demining. In particular, Ukrainian sappers are trained in Switzerland, and special assistance is also provided by Great Britain, the United States and others.

It is worth noting that recently the Nova Poshta company, together with the State Emergency Service, started the development of sapper robots.

There is also a mobile application in Ukraine that shows potentially dangerous places.
