“This was the third Ka-52 of Russians downed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the past two days,” stressed the Air Force Command of Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter has the ability to carry out terrain reconnaissance, target designation, and coordination of the actions of a group of attack helicopters.
The aircraft is capable of hitting armored and unarmored vehicles, manpower, and air targets on the battlefield. The aircraft is a further development of the “Black Shark” Ka-50 helicopter.
Despite the Ka-52 helicopter having various modern missile defense systems, Ukrainian servicemen have repeatedly shot down Russian attack helicopters with various missile systems, even anti-tank ones.
Recently, the air defense of the Ukrainian Ground Forces neutralized a Russian reconnaissance drone.
The enemy “Orlan-10” drone was destroyed by a missile from the Osa air defense missile system in one of the actions on the front of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
